Samantha began her journey into midwifery in 2009. She was pursuing nursing and obstetrics, when she had the life changing opportunity to witness midwifery care first hand. She knew instantly that this was her calling and transferred to FSTM (Florida School of Traditional Midwifery). She graduated, with honors, from the 3 year direct-entry midwifery program at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. Samantha had the amazing opportunity to learn from a variety of midwives from brand new to grassroot. Their varying levels of expertise and differences in styles of practice have shaped her into the midwife she is today. She has worked in multiple well-known and respected birth centers as well as a high-risk OB office. Since 2015, Samantha has attended over 1000 out of hospital births. Caring for healthy, low-risk women is her specialty, therefore, her cesarean rate is below 5% compared to a local rate of 35% or more. She is known for her nurturing, personalized, evidence-based care and her light-hearted sense of humor. She is a mother of 5, her youngest was born at home after 3 c-sections.
